In 1961, Beatrice met the love of her life, Ezequiel Deleon and were married in 1963. They were married for 59 years, they had 4 boys, Rudy, Jesse, Ezequiel Jr., and Guadalupe (Wally). For 20 years they called Houston, Texas home until 1983, when they found their forever home in Austin.
It wasn’t long after moving to Austin that Beatrice found her love for Education, teaching pre-k and getting students ready to enter Kindergarten. She was a dedicated teacher who impacted the lives of her students at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Woodcliff Baptist Church and other Christian preschools. She enjoyed teaching her students the ABC’s, numbers, colors, and even Spanish. She loved every single child that came through her classroom and they adored her in return. She was an extraordinary teacher that led her to be featured as the “Worker of the Week” for KEYE-TV in 1993.
Beatrice was a devoted Christian woman who dedicated her life to the Lord, Jesus Christ. She attended Word of Life, New Life and finally, Promiseland Church. Beatrice was a kind and loving mother to her boys and a strong wife to her husband. She loved to do arts and crafts, cook, teach and worship the Lord. She was into fashion and loved wigs. Beatrice always made everyone feel special and to many she was their 2nd mom. Her specialty was making Chicken Enchiladas when family would visit. Her lemon squares and dump cake were also her specialty desserts. Through her food you could feel her love.
She also loved and treasured her Sister’s Club trips with Carrie, Bonnie, Linda and Mary Ann which began in May of 1999 through 2011. She looked forward to spending time and catching up with her sisters. She also had a special sister connection with her sister-in-law, Carmen Morales Trigo or whom she called Chicha. It can be said that she impacted and changed the lives of many people.
Beatrice is preceded in death by her father Guadalupe Munoz, mother Antonia Sanchez and her brothers Mario Munoz and Manuel Rodrigues.
She is survived by her husband; Ezequiel DeLeon and children; Rudy, Jesse, Ezequiel Jr., Guadalupe and wife Diana, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, her sisters Linda Villarreal, Carrie Matsunga, Frances Munoz, and Estella Molano, and many nieces and nephews.
