Milton Mick Irwin Dunford

Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on December 11, 2011 in is 92nd year. Beloved husband of Jean (nee Hancock) for 68 years. Son of the late Oscar James and Florence Elinor “Ella” Knox. Respected patriarch of a large, loving family. Father of Terry (Kaaren) Dunford, Karen (Brian) Earle and Craig (Kerri) Dunford. Grandfather of Chris (Lisa) Dunford, Michelle (Derek) McCrossan, Jeremy (Jenni) Dunford, Timothy (Jenne) Earle, Tammie (Andrew) Astrom, Tania (John) MacLeod, Torin (Jen) Earle, Travis (Deanna) Earle, Tyson (Melissa Beebee) Earle and Delaney and Ben Dunford. Great-grandfather of Nathan and Keira Dunford, Liam and Molly McCrossan, Teia and Kohen Dunford, Niklas, Dylan and Ryan Astrom, Ella MacLeod and Grace, Hilary and Alivea Earle. Survived by brothers Stanley and Karl “Bud” (Donna) and sisters Flora Johnston and Ila Shadgett. Predeceased by brother Bill and sisters Mina Magee, Edna Darling and Mary Boate. Also survived by sisters-in-law Dorothy Hancock, Hilda Dunford and Enid McConkey. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Milton was a longtime member of Springville United Church, a proud member of Mapleridge Seniors Centre, partner in Dunford Bros. Sand & Gravel for 43 years, an avid gardener, card and pool player. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. Service will be on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at WESTDALE UNITED CHURCH, 1509 Sherbrooke Street at 2:00 p.m. with visitation at the church from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mapleridge Seniors Centre or Westdale United Church would be appreciated by the family.
