Ina Dorothy Wilson was born in Montserrat, W.I. in 1923 and lived on the island of Antigua until coming to Canada in 1958.
Independent and intelligent, Dorothy tutored English and worked for the British Government as a principal court stenographer for 14 years. After coming to Canada, she settled in with the Federal Government, where she worked for 33 years.
Upon retiring, she moved to Peterborough to help care for her grandchildren, and while healthy, she indulged her love of cooking, by pampering her family with handmade pasta, homemade challah and french bread. No recipe was too daunting, and no ethnic food was off limits.
Dorothy loved to attend Mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral and lived by the Golden Rule; her faith was her life.
Left to mourn her is daughter, Antoinette Van Veen (Art) and adored grandchildren, Alessandra Friesen (David) and Brock Van Veen. Missing her hugs, snuggles and love are her beloved great grandchildren, Alivia, Isaac and Mikaela Friesen.
Momma, you were an amazing presence and have left a huge void in our lives. Rest, rest, rest in peace.
