Dora "Dot" May Burnett

May 14, 1924 – May 22, 2015

Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Predeceased by her husband Lorne Burnett. She will be sadly missed by her children Paula (Bryan) Huhtala, Mitchel (Sharon) Burnett, grandchildren, Bren (Becky), Brad, Jacquie, Daniel and Kevin and her great grandchildren, Kaelan, Spencer and Avery and by her brothers, sisters and extended family. As the third of twelve children growing up in Bella Coola, in northern B. C., she developed strong, loving ties with her siblings. She had a compelling and endearing love for the mountains and valleys of her home province of British Columbia and returned frequently. She was an avid and creative gardener and lover of nature and wildlife. Dogs and kids were drawn to her, as her love and kindness to both was instantly recognizable. Never judgmental, always loving. Family was everything. In accordance with her wishes, a private family service will be held at Rosemount Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
