Donald Don John Chambers

April 8, 1930 - December 22, 2013

Our father passed peacefully after living a full life; caring for his family, farming, camping, canoeing, curling, serving his church and his community. He leaves behind, Mary, his much loved wife of 60 years and his children Jane (Alan), Bob (Cathy), Barb and Earle (Marlene). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Martha (Jason), Michael (Peggy), Tyler (Amanda), Todd (Kayleigh), Erin, Liam, Evan (Amanda), Joel (Ashley) and Mitchell; his great-grandchildren Aiden, Rhyse, Blake, Jayson, Rebecca and Edward. He leaves one sister Dorothy (Bill) and their family Connie (Rob) and Spencer (Richard). He was predeceased by his parents William and Helen (nee Madden) Chambers. Don’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the “above & beyond” care provided by the staff at Empress Gardens where he and Mary lived and to Rev. Dick Prince for his support and compassion. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at ST. MATTHEW’S UNITED CHURCH, 4014 Wallace Point Road, Peterborough. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Dad’s memory to OFAH (Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters) or to a charity of your choice.
