I went to school with him  since kindergarten.  He was Always a nice guy and very funny. Sorry for your loss 

Rich may have been 41, but it was like living next door to a teenager! He loved life and truly lived for the present! As his neighbors, we have some crazy stories about the things we witnessed! For example, one day I heard a strange squeaking coming from outside and when I looked out the window, there Rich was all by himself  riding a child size chopper style bicycle up and down the driveway with a smile on his face! Thanks for some great laughs! We'll miss you!

I had the privilege of knowing Rich professionally and working with him at UT.  He was respected for who he was and appreciated for his smile and his willingness to help others.  
May God bring peace and comfort to you and your family.

My thoughts and prayers are with his children and the rest of this family. I will always remember Richie in our younger days and seeing his mature smile in the photo just makes me remember his personality even more. RIP Richie!  My god give you comfort in heaven and you find peace with your family on the other side!!

I grew up around the corner from Richie. He was such a kind, happy person. I'm sad to hear this news. God Bless you and your loved ones, Richie.

Rich touched the lives of my family more than most will know.  My boys (and Jordan) looked forward to the lazy days of summer to just hang out with Rich's sons- Dane and Clay.  They had been doing it for years! You could always see it in Rich's eyes- the immense love he had for his boys! and the kids loved him back- even my son, Bailey.  Rich, you will hold a special place in his heart!  I thank you for that.  You will be dearly missed by "the boys".  But, oh what wonderful memories they will have and you have helped to create a bond that I know the boys will have for a lifetime!  You need to look over them Rich.  God Bless You!

Through good times and bad you were there for me. Words cannot express the love I feel for you. I miss your passion, your laughter, your smile. You will always be in my heart and soul. I know God will bring you the comfort and peace you need and hopefully one more wave to ride. I pray for peace for your sisters. Be their guiding angel as they travel this difficult journey we call life.

I knew you only briefly. You made my children smile by showing them card tricks. You touched the heart of a dear friend. I know you will be missed by many. I pray for strength for your family. Rest peacefully in God's hands.

Thoughts & prayers to Rich`s family!! What a great guy he will be greatly missed!!

Rich was my best friend growing up and I just recently got reacquainted with him. I will miss his sense of humor and all the good times and laughter we shared. My heart and prayers go out to the family.

R.I.P. Rich.  I know you'll make the angels smile.

My heart aches for Camille & Shelley as they are faced with such sorrow.  Yet my smile is bright knowing they had one of the best brothers that ever walked along side them.  From your strength when needed to your moments of guidance when necessary.  You were one of the best Rich ~ you are gone but will never be forgotten.  I am going to hold onto my memories & cherish the talks we had ~ even those special jokes we use to share that would make Camille just giggle... :)  Someday my friend... some day.  Until then ~ walk among the best of them.  Spread your wings and fly.  Watch over your sisters, as they need strength and protection.  Guide when needed, support when necessary & hold their hands when lost ~ because its the little moments they will miss the most.  You were a wonderful man ~ and never forget, Almighty Father, whose command is over all and whose love never fails, make me aware of Thy presence and obedient to Thy will.  Keep me true to my best self, guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and deed and helping me to live so that I can face my fellow Marines, my loved ones, and Thee without shame or fear.  Protect my family.  Give me the will to do the work of a Marine and to accept my share of responsibilities with vigor and enthusiasm.  Grant me the courage to be proficient in my daily performance.  Keep me loyal and faithful to my superiors and to the duties my Country and the Marine Corps have entrusted to me.  Help me to wear my uniform with dignity, and let it remind me daily of the traditions which I must uphold. If I am inclined to doubt, steady my faith; if I am tempted, make me strong to resist; if I should miss the mark, give me courage to try again.  Guide me with the light of truth and grant me wisdom by which I may understand the answer to my prayer.  Most importantly ~ Semper Fidelis is the motto that bonds. Seeing two sister have so much love and respet for Rich breaks our hearts that we did not get to know him better. What we know and seen was a wonderfull man who gave his family alot of love and joy and many happy memories. Our thoughts and prayer are with his family. Darrell and Sandy ash

To the most amazing, most loving, big brother any sister could ever ask for. Rich, I miss you with every tear that I cry and I am heart broken over your death. I still can't believe that you are gone and I keep wishing that someone will wake me from this tragedy. But you will remain in my heart forever and I will hold on to your precious memory for the rest of my life. It seems as the days pass a hear of another person who's life you had touched in one way or another. You are loved and missed by so many. RICH SHEETS,I CANT BELIEVE U R GONE WHEN I HEARD THE NEWS IT CRUSHED ME.U INSPIRED ME IN SO MANY WAYS WHEN WE WERE YOUNGER THAT NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT BUT U AND ME.WHEN U WENT TO THE MARINES AND WE WROTE EACH OTHER ALL TIME IT WAS PRICELESS. I had the great joy of knowing Rich professionally and personally.  No matter what the situation, no matter what the position, he was always just Rich.  The spirit of his soul just came through so loud and clear.  In this age of make-believe and people playing roles, Rich was a refreshing throwback to a time when a man knew who he was, and was proud enough to show the world.  

May God bring you to everlasting peace my friend!  You will be missed, but never forgotten.
