Tina Jean Johnson

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Anne Kizer; and her in-laws, Betty & Moe Johnson.

Tina was the beloved wife of her surviving husband, Jeff Johnson, for the past 37 years. Devoted mother to Kyle (Kelly) Johnson and the best grandma to Nellie Johnson. A dear niece to her surviving aunts, Margaret Kizer, and Elizabeth Elting. Cherished sister to her surviving siblings Darin (Yolanda) Kizer & Dottie (Virgil) Ulrich, and Barb (Bill) Schindler, beloved aunt to Lori, Miles, Chase, Tommy, Stacy, Jenny, Karissa, Lisa, and Matt. A cousin to many from the Kizer, Johnson, and Elting families scattered throughout the US. As well as, a loyal friend to many.

Tina will be remembered as a woman who lived her life, ensuring those she met felt care and compassion. From her days doing hair in her beauty shop in her hometown of Washburn to being the first smile inside the door at the McDonald’s counter or Heartland Bank, Tina made sure you left feeling a little brighter. Over the past decade, Tina has determinedly coordinated Heart of Illinois Harvest, a food rescue program devoted to ensuring that food was not wasted and people were fed. As we cherish Tina, we will make peace in the simple joys that made Tina smile, including Sunday drives on Grandview Dr., a slice of lemon meringue pie, the color pink, Hallmark movies, covered bridges and lighthouses, egg sandwich nights, and times with those she loved the most.

No services are being held at this time. A celebration of life is to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Heart of Illinois Harvest at P.O. Box 9702, Peoria, IL, 61612 are much appreciated.
