Susan (Dane) Gulley

She was born on February 19, 1954 in Rush City, Minnesota to Herbert Lorenzo and Veronica (Achter) Dane. Susan married James Gulley on August 18, 1973 in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are her children, Brian (Jennifer) Gulley of Peoria, and Katie Gulley of Litchfield; and her grandchildren, Jackson James Gulley and Camden Dwight Gulley.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joseph Dane; and her aunt, Josephine Remley.

Susan was a proud graduate of Woodrow Wilson Grade School, Richwoods High School and ICC School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for Proctor Hospital for 41 years, and briefly with Methodist. Susan was the recipient of the 1st Proctor Employee Personified award, or PEP award.

She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church since 1980. Susan was a member of the church's Bell Choir, LWML and their congregation's Secretary.

Susan loved traveling, especially going to Minnesota to watch the Loons and Door County, Wisconsin with her family. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She cared for many of her older family members.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Susan's Memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11am, with a visitation to start an hour prior at 10am. Pastor Karl Eckhoff will be officiating.
