Sherry Layne Hauk

Sherry Layne (Lee) Hauk, 78, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at The Arc at Chillicothe. She was born on December 16, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana, a daughter of James M. Lee, Sr. and Edna L. (Burgess) Lee. Sherry married Melvin W. Hauk on March 3, 1973 in East Peoria. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2022 in Peoria.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law.

Sherry is survived by her two children, Ketra D. Hauk and Frank W. (Kim) Hauk of Chillicothe, both of Chillicothe; grandson, Lane Hauk of Lacon; great-grandson, Ryder Hauk of Lacon; sister, Constance "Connie" Ludwig of Clinton, North Carolina; brother, James "Doc" (Judy) Lee of East Peoria; two nieces; two nephews; a great-niece; and a great-nephew.

Sherry worked for World Drugs and Schradzki's Mens Clothing before becoming a stay at home mom and homemaker.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Peoria.

Sherry's celebration of life gathering will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Her celebration of life service will follow at 11:00 am. Inurnment will take place in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
