Robert "Bob" E. Barker

He was born Jan. 31, 1936 in Peoria to Francis and Ella (Smithes) Barker. Bob first married Kathryn Olson in 1962, she passed away in 1989. He later married Lynn Hutt who also preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Robin.

Bob is survived by two sons: Scott of Nashville, TN, Todd of Springhill, FL, one brother, Paul (Kathy) of Dunlap, one sister, Teri (Bill) Connors of Chillicothe, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a United States Army veteran. Following his time in the Army, Bob worked for the US Postal service. He later bought four Convenient Food Stores. After selling those he was a Salesman for Butch’s Pizza and worked part time at All Star Towing for his sister Teri.

He was a proud Irishman and walked in Peoria St. Patrick’s Day Parade every year in his traditional Irish costume. He was an avid St Louis Cardinals fan and would appreciate Cardinal attire for his funeral. He also enjoyed spending time at the German American Hall.

He was a member of the American Legion, the Peoria German American Society, and the Old Farts Club in Sunnyland.

Funeral services will be Monday Sept. 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.

Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria with Military Rites.
