He was born Feb. 17, 1984 in Peoria to Paul and Mary (Kearns) Tamkin.
Survivors include his mother of Peoria, one sister, Amanda (Aaron) Kilgore of Peoria, one nephew, Alex Kilgore of Peoria, three aunts, two uncles, and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Mike was a volunteer fireman and EMT for the Peoria Heights Fire Department. Following his time with the fire department he was a Police Dispatcher in Princeton then worked in the Claims Department at State Farm in Bloomington.
He was an active member at St Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights and Historic St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bloomington.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Mass will be Monday, March 14, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at St Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. prior to the services at church. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Peoria Heights Volunteer Fire Department.
