He was born Nov. 3, 1947 in Oak Park, IL to Peter and Adeline (Parrish) Korenchuk. He married Hilary Hagan on Aug. 29, 1970 in Chicago. She survives along with one daughter, Krista (Josh) Leifheit of Naperville, IL, three granddaughters: Bella and Jersie Korenchuk of Chillicothe, Kendall Leifheit of Naperville, one grandson, Torin Leifheit of Naperville, two sisters: Sherida Miller of Oak Lawn, IL, and Pam Marose of Oak Lawn, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son and daughter-in-law, Michael S. “Korey” and Rachel Korenchuk.
Michael was the Director of Diagnostic Imaging at Proctor Hospital for 18 years before his retirement.
He was a longtime member of Ducks Unlimited.
The family would like to thank the Sisters and the staff of St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon for their loving care for Michael during his time there.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a Celebration of Michaels Life on Monday Nov. 26, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Visitation will be from 12 Noon till service time at 1:30.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon.
