She was born on December 12, 1946 in Peoria, IL to Robert E. and Lois C. (Vaubel) Boettger.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and Thomas Boettger, and one sister, Ruth Ann Brewer.
Surviving are her nephew, William (Christy) Brewer of Chatham; a niece, Kimberly (Joe) Kinsella of Wyoming and three great-nephews, Brayden Brewer, Brevin Brewer and Chet Kinsella.
Mary Lou graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1968, she continued her education and later received her Master Degree. Mary Lou was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, E.T.A Chapter and the Peoria Area Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, going to the movies and going to lunch with the ladies. Mary Lou's greatest joy of all was spending time with her niece, nephew and great-nephews.
A funeral service will be at 11 am on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Burial will follow the service at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
