Helen Louise Miller Fisher, a long-time resident of Springfield, passed away on May 18, 2017 at a care facility in Garland, TX. Helen was born on August 31, 1918 in Decatur, IL. She grew up in Illinois and graduated from Bradley University where she met her husband Niles, and they were married until his death in 1982. She loved to travel, was an avid bridge player, active in many civic clubs, a member of High Street UMC, and volunteered at the Kuss Center. She was very appreciative of her friends and neighbors whose assistance allowed her to stay in her home into her 90’s until she relocated to Oakwood Village and ultimately Garland. She is survived by her daughter Carol Beima (Jon) of Mount Vernon, WA and son Don Fisher (Nancy) of Garland, TX, three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. Graveside and memorial services are pending in Peoria, IL and Richardson, TX respectively.
