Gerald "Jerry" Leon Fabish

Gerald Leon "Jerry" Fabish, 71, of Edwards, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at his home. He was born on March 22, 1952 in Peoria, a son of Edmund Fabish and Irene L. (Jackson) Fabish. Jerry married Beth Ann Koehl on August 18, 1973 in Edwards. She survives.

He is also survived by his 10 children, Rachel (Nick) Hausam of Washington, Joshua (Erin) Fabish of Orlando, Elizabeth (Rey) Sanchez of San Antonio, Jacob (Hannah) Fabish of Louisville, Benjamin (Rachel) Fabish of Louisville, Jesse (Samm) Fabish of Phoenix, Abigail Fabish of Peoria, George (Lyla) Fabish of Shelbyville, Daniel (Alexis) Fabish of Phoenix, and Michael (Olivia) Fabish of Mesa; 20 grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Pam) Fabish of Edwards; one sister, Patty Chockley of Lewistown; and one sister-in-law, Ann Fabish of Fairview.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Kenny Williams; and brother, George Fabish.

He was a graduate of Illinois State University.

Jerry served his country in the United States Marine Corps, a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He worked 35 years in Peoria Public Schools District 150, teaching behavior disorder special education students. During his career, he touched many hundreds of young lives. Jerry was a pastor for a number of years reaching out to help as many people as he could. His heart was always to help in any way he could, sometimes whether they wanted it or not. You didn't have to know Jerry long to know he was a believer in Jesus. It was his main passion and now we are so grateful that he is with Him now.

Jerry was a member of Christian Assembly Church of Peoria.

A private graveside service will take place at Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in Edwards. Jerry's memorial visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.
