My sympathy and prayers for the Flesburg family.  I taught their children at St. Vincents.  They were such a lovely family.  Mr. and Mrs. Flesburg were always very supportive parents.  I remember Mrs. Flesburg often helping with driving the classes for field trips.  May God bless this family at this time of loss.

I first met Ed back in 1978 when we were working nights part time at Illinois Blue upstairs correcting Caterpillar ink drawings.  He was the senior guy and was always easy to talk  to.  I was going to ICC at the time and he gave good advice on what I should do after graduation.  Last time that I saw him was at Cat bldg TT in 1985; where I had been deployed from the Tech Center during the recession.  He was a great guy

I have many fond and funny memories of Ed.  
Ed lead Caterpillar teams to audit/qualify Modine plants to supply product worldwide.  In the US, Mike Best, Rick Behrend, and I accompanied Ed's teams when they audited Modine plants.  Ed was always polite and professional.  He stood out from all our other customers who had similar systems.  Ed challenged us to raise the bar' from an engineering, sales and quality standpoint.  He helped us to make a significant impact to Modine from a quality systems standpoint  and, helped me understand the big picture' from Cats' viewpoint.  We discussed and planned how to accomplish our big picture' goal.  We did this over many fine dinners and drinks!  We also made a significant impact on the amount of Guinness imported to the US!  Over those years, Ed and I became very close. 
On the lighter side, Ed had a very subtle sense of humor.  Many times, I was the only person in a meeting who understood Ed's sense of humor.  He would momentary glance over to me, make a slight smile, and then continue his discussions with Cat or Modine personnel.  Ed was genuine nice person.  I was fortunate to have had the many years of friendship with Ed.  I miss him.

I was fortunate to spend a small part of my life working with Ed. A man of great integrity.

I sent an email to some of Ed's coworkers at Cat notifying them of Ed's passing.  Here it is.....hoping it will also raise a few smiles on the family's faces.==>          I learned a lot from this man.  A lot of air miles and rental car miles were accumulated together.   It's a long list of things that I am better for because of Ed, but will leave you with a couple of the more humorous ones that might bring a smile to your face today...........A.I.C. at 7:30, which is strictly interpreted as " "Rear end" In Car at 7:30 Raube, not checking out in the lobby at 7:30, but A.I.C. at 7:30" and if you read the paper in the rental car, you damn well better put everything back together neatly with all sections IN ORDER.   Only needed to learn those lessons once, got it, and it was smooth sailing after that :-)

Our condolences to the family of Ed Flesburg.  We will always have Never Better imbedded in our hearts!!  He was a great customer and friend when he visited Allegiant Firearms.  We will truly miss him!!

Donna Poo, Thats what Ed used to call you. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. He was a very great man,I worked at Riley's Dry Cleaners and I would ask Ed how he was doing and he would always reply "Never Better" I always looked forward to waiting on him, He will be greatly missed.
