He was born August 23, 1934 in Varna, IL to Oscar and Edith (Norwood) Flesburg. He married Donna Stotler July 4, 1964 in St. Patrick Church in Camp Grove, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Mervin and DuWayne.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years Donna of Peoria, three children, Tim of Indiana, Tom of Peoria and Tanya (Dwayne) Bayer of East Peoria and three grandchildren, Mason, Memphis, and Summer.
Edward attended Bradley University and the Caterpillar Apprenticeship program. He was employed at Caterpillar for 61 years in engineering and Global Purchasing until retiring in December 2015. Edward was a 6 Sigma Black belt with the Global Supply Chain Network Division. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army serving in Korea. Edward was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Peoria, a life member of the Chillicothe Sportsman Club and a life member of the N.R.A. He loved his family, hockey, hunting, motorcycles and Green Bay Packers.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 4 to 7 pm at Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10 am Friday, December 8, 2017 at the funeral home. Father Tom Hensler will officiate. Entombment will follow the service at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
