Donald F. Wolgan 82, of Peoria, passed away at 5:55 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. He was born October 12, 1930 in Peoria to Fred and Bessie (Kratzert) Wolgan. He married Lois Brown on April 17, 1955 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Terry (Steve) Gonwa and Tammy (Gary) Rockow both of Peoria; 4 grandchildren, Ashley of Omaha, NE, Nick, Justin and Conner all of Peoria; and nephew, Bobby Wolgan of Peoria. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert. Don was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran serving from 1950 to 1953. He was a 46 year member of the American Legion Post #2 in Peoria. Don was the former co-owner of the Dr. Pepper bottling plant on Main St. in Peoria; he later worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling company in Peoria retiring after 25 years of service. After his retirement he became the owner and operator for 20 years of Greetings and Goodies in West Peoria and Plaza Card and Gift in the Twin Towers Mall. Don enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He was a member of the former West Bluff Christian Church and present member of Northwoods Community Church. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 19, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the chapel. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Center for Healthy Living or Northwoods Community Church.
