Donald Eugene Fry, 89, of Peoria, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2024 in Peoria.
He was born on October 26, 1934 in Bloomington, IL to Clarence and Rose (Neubauer) Fry. He married Marlene Shehan on May 18, 1962 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on December 3, 2021 in Peoria. His parents and one sister, Darlene Starr also precede him in death.
Surviving are his four children, Jana Cooper, David Fry, Jason Fry, and Julie Thomas; and three grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a long time employee at Caterpillar Inc., before retiring after 37 years. Donald was a graduate of Woodruff High School and received his Bachelor Degree. Donald was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and could be found watching every game broadcast. His love of baseball carried over to Umpiring Softball and Baseball games for the Peoria Park District.
A private service was held and Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
