Alene "Sue" Magnuson Hoover

Peoria – Alene M. “Sue” Hoover, 86, of Peoria, IL passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Buehler Home in Peoria. Sue was born July 14, 1930 in Sublette, IL to Harry and Millie (Peach) Magnuson. She married Rolland “Rol” Hoover on October 11, 1952 in Peoria, IL.

Surviving are: her three sons; Roger (Pam) Hoover of Peoria, David (Keeley) Hoover of Trivoli and Douglas Hoover of Newport Beach, CA.; grandchildren, Ryan Hoover of South Riding, VA, Jesse Hoover of Trivoli, Jarrod (Lisa) Hoover of Leesburg, VA, Matt Hoover of Irvine, CA, Jedediah Hoover of Thornton, CO, and Brandon Hoover of Newport Beach, CA, her great grandson Corbin Hoover of Leesburg, VA, and two brothers; Dale (Shirley) Magnuson of Walnut, IL and Adrian (Marsha) Magnuson of Walnut, IL. Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Sue attended Brown’s Business College and later went on to work for Caterpillar as a key punch operator for five years and the Peoria School District, at Peoria High School, as a cafeteria worker for ten years. Her long time hobbies included golfing, belonging to four different golf leagues, bowling, and playing bridge. She also loved wintering in New Braunfels, TX where she and Rolland had a winter home.

Sue was a member of Memorial Christian Church in Peoria and the Elks and Emblem Clubs.

A memorial service will be held at 10 am Friday, January 27, 2017 at Memorial Christian Church, 2507 W. Newman Parkway in Peoria. The Rev. Kathryn Frus will officiate. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to her church. Online tributes may be left at www.Davison-Fulton.com
