She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Thomas, her parents, sister Annie Faye, and brothers Floyd Cary and Wesley Cary.
She is survived by one son, James and Serena Thomas, two grandchildren, Benjamin and Annaleigh Thomas, sister-in-law, Becky Cary of Holladay, Tennessee and a sister, Janie and Wayne Hall of Camden, Tennessee, lots of nieces and nephews.
In 2010, Hugh and Willodean left their friend and family in Bruceton and their Church in Huntingdon to move into the “Beautiful Veranda of Pensacola” to be near their son and his family. She was a member of Olive Baptist Church.
Willodean was very active at the Veranda and had lots of friend there. She was very involved in the Worship Service on Sunday night.
Willodean has a passion for God’s Word: some of her favorites:
Isaiah 40:31 They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, They shall mount up with wings as Eagles. They shall run and not be weary and shall walk and not faint.
Romans 8:28 For we know all things work for good, to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Depart, Oh Christian Soul out of this world. In the name of the Father Almighty Who created you. In the name of Jesus Christ who redeemed you. In the name of the Holy Spirit Who sanctified you. May your rest be this day in peace, and may you dwell in the paradise of God. Amen
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints. Psalm 116:15
We will be gathering to share some of our favorite stories, our memories, to laugh, to cry, and to remember wonderful person who will be greatly missed.
