My sincere condolences and prayers  go out to Steve’s family.  I was Steve and Sandy’s neighbor for many years.  Steve was always there to help with the many plumbing, A/C, appliance repairs and remodeling of rooms that took place in my house.  Many times I would not have known  what to do without his help.  He could pretty much repair anything that needed repairing.   Sandy was always so patient, when I had to knock on their door and ask for Steve’s help with another leaking pipe.  It was always such a good feeling to know that I had someone who loved the Lord and was trustworthy to be working in my house.  I know Steve loved the Lord, his family and his church very much.  He will be greatly  missed.

For Sandy, Jason, Stephanie, and the rest of Steve's family.  I remember meeting Steve for the first time 60 years ago, playing Little League baseball with him for three years on the same team, our families going to Ferry Pass Methodist Church, going to our first Atlanta Braves game with his family in 1967, going to Pond Creek on Saturdays and eating watermelon.   Ten years later I would come back to Pensacola- going to Disney World with Steve in 1977 and playing softball against him at Olive Baptist Church.  Another twenty years pass by and I return to Pensacola with my own family- his family and my family now going to Olive Baptist Church for years.  These last twenty-five years we would constantly run into each other around Pensacola, including his father's funeral in December 2000, and for the last time at his mother's funeral in August 2024.  It seems like Steve's time on earth ended too soon, but God is good, and His plans for us are perfect.  I am so glad his name is written in the Book of Life.

Steve had rough years in his life, but God brought him into His flock.  I have to believe some of Steve's most rewarding days on this earth included doing the Lord's work on mission trips- his mom was so proud of his work, and I'm sure his dad beamed from Heaven.

Throughout the years Steve's Uncle Earl, Aunt Gaye, and his cousins lived, grew up, and kept returning to the house next door to Steve's family.  So many memories associated with those two houses on Abbie Lane. 

Whenever I think of Pensacola, I always think of how much joy came into my life from spending time with Steve and his family.  God bless them, and God bless you Sandy, Jason, Stephanie and your families!

One of the most selfless men I've known who wanted to introduce everyone he could to the one he loved -- Jesus.  I would say rest in peace, but Steve is probably already working on a few projects. My heart hurts for his family and those he touched as he will be so missed.

Sad to read about his passing on to glory but his reward is great-always such a strong witness in no matter what he did-Warren and I enjoyed his friendship while we were members at Olive in our years of living in Orange Beach.  Prayers of comfort for the family. Margaret Dunn

Keeping the family and friends in my prayers, Steve was a great man who loved his family and I will miss seeing him in the bank , loved his character, I know he is in a good place and one day we will see him again , life is just too short and no one knows what tomorrow will bring . I just saw him Thursday and never thought it would be my last time for a while , Sending prayers for his family , especially for those beautiful grandchildren.🙏🙏🙏
