Stephen Marion Reed, born on February 6, 1956, in Pensacola, Florida, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on April 1, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Stephen lived a life full of love, faith, and service.
Stephen was the cherished son of Aaron and Faye Reed and was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister, Melinda Harville. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sandra Reed, who was the love of his life and his greatest joy. Together, they built a home filled with faith, laughter, and unwavering love.
He was a proud and devoted father to his son, Jason Reed (Courtney), and his daughter, Stephanie Brooks (Lake). He also played a special role as an uncle to David Harville (Jessica). But perhaps his greatest joy came from being “PawPaw” to his treasured grandchildren: Wyatt Reed, Dylan Reed, Dawson Brooks, Ellen Grace Brooks, and Harrison Brooks, each of whom he adored beyond measure. His beloved Aunt Gaye Kent, along with many other cherished family members and friends, will miss him deeply.
Stephen’s life was anchored in his faith. As a faithful member of Olive Baptist Church, he served God and others with a heart full of kindness and compassion. He loved deeply and gave selflessly, always ensuring that those around him had everything they needed. His generosity, strength, and love left an imprint on everyone he met.
A man of many talents, Stephen could fix anything and was always the first to lend a helping hand. His love for Alabama football, hunting, and fishing brought him much joy, but nothing compared to the love he had for his family. He served as a board member of the Tate FFA Alumni Foundation Rodeo, dedicating time to a cause close to his heart.
Though our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing that Stephen is now in the presence of the Lord. His legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in all who knew him, and we take comfort in the promise that we will see him again one day.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Olive Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. The interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be, Mark Price, Jay Williams, Greg Daniels, Jim Wilson, Dylan Reed and Wyatt Reed. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Hudson, David Waters and Kevin Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Food Pantry at Olive Baptist Church or to the Tate FFA Alumni Foundation, c/o Austin Courson, 1771 Tate Road, Cantonment, FL 32533 (checks payable to Tate FFA Foundation).
Stephen was a man who loved hard, gave selflessly, and left a legacy of faith and family. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
