He was a member of the Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church for his entire life and was a proud believer in his faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sister and his wife, who he always referred to as “his bride”, Jean Louise Burns.
He was truly proud of his children which include Richard Burns (Louanne), Kristi Garrett (Buddy), Robert Burns, Jr and Tammy Buzbee.
His biggest pride and joy could be seen when talking about his grandchildren and mostly his great grandchildren.

Great Grandchildren are Abby, Adalyn, Amelia and Sophia.
His hobbies and interests were woodworking, gardening, tall ships and watching the hummingbirds that returned yearly. Mom named them nosy, posey and bully. They laughed each day together while enjoying their coffee on the back porch and watching the birds flit around the feeders.
