He retired from General Motors in 1987. Raymond was an active member of his church, and he attended
the Harvest Assembly of God and he worked as head usher, member of the board, and taught Sunday school for many years. He also played and umpired for local softball for many years. He loved the Cleveland Indians, the Browns, and Ohio State Football. He also was an avid member of the local PTO and worked for the school board.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Anna Moeshberger Freer and Clyde R. Freer; brothers, Robert Freer, Floyd Freer, and Harold Freer; sisters, Florence Phillips, Ruth Skinner, and Marion Wilson.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Marilyn Miller Freer; daughters, Darlene Freer, Marlene Stembridge-Beasley (wife of James Beasley), and Dottie Jo Billock (wife of John Billock); sister, Joanne Saloff (wife of Bill); grandchildren, Tony Karpenko (husband of Michele), Michael Druckenmiller (husband of Kristine), Glenn Druckenmiller (husband of Jonica), Charlotte Cabico (wife of George), and Tara Johnston (wife of Clay); great-grandchildren, Josh, Anthony C., Megan, Ashley, Alexis, Cameron, Anthony D. Dasi; and great-great-grandchildren: Luke, Ella, Levi, Hallies.
A visitation for Raymond will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, FL 32506, followed by a memorial service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Raymond's memory may be made to Vitas Hospice.
