Philip attended Woodham High School and Pensacola Junior College. While at PJC he worked the night shift as a DJ at WNVY. After college he worked at St. Regis Paper Company as a scheduler in the bag plant. In his spare time he started rehabbing old homes. In 1980 he married Francene Duffy of Pensacola and formed Russell Home Builders with a niche in building custom energy efficient homes. They worked in the building industry together for 44 years.
They had two children – Kelly Russell Snodgrass of Morgantown, IN and Kevin Philip Russell (Laura) of Gulf Breeze, FL. He also has two grandchildren – Ward Harrison Russell and Taimi Kathryn Snodgrass. He is survived by his wife, two children, two grandchildren and his brother Warren Russell of Niceville, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Patricia Allen.
We will be holding a Celebration of Life on December 30, 2024 at the Pensacola Garden Center, 1850 N. 9th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32503 at 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Emerald Coast Hospice would be appreciated.
