1942-2011
Kenneth Robert Dyson, born May 31, 1942, in Quincy, MA, to John Freeman Dyson and Blanche Edna Freeman passed away at home on January 5, 2011, in Pensacola, FL.
Graduating from Tillamook, OR, High School, he attended Oregon University before joining the USAF in 1962, and was based in Key West, FL. And Pakistan as a Morse Intercept Operator.
Ken worked for Western Airlines in Los Angeles as a programmer specialist. He met Ginny, his future wife, at an airline function and they became life partners. Before retiring to Pensacola, they lived in Memphis, TN., where Ken was employed by Terminix and Lewis Ford.
Ken and Ginny traveled the globe living, laughing, and loving each other into their “getting old, babe” years.
He was a kind generous, precious gentle man with a lifetime supply of humor, who loved golf, tennis, reading, classical music, Sudoku’s (in ink) and everything mind challenging. He never met a stranger, whether at the local doughnut shop or on the streets of a foreign city.
He leaves his wife, Virginia (Ginny) Houghton Price, two step sons, Jay Price and Scott (Kim) Price; grandchildren, Jayme, Matthew, and Danielle Price, Kyle Ferrell, Amanda Outlaw, and sister-in-law, Mary (Normand) Adler.
A remembrance memorial for friends will be held from 11am to 1pm, Friday, February 4, 2011 at Vets Post 12, 3220 Gulf Beach Highway (west of Fairfield). The family will greet friends at 11am before the service at 11:30am. A luncheon for Ken’s family and friends will follow.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN., 38105.
