Juan Don Taylor

(December 28th, 1949- July 19th, 2022)

Juan Don Taylor, a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, passed away July 19th, 2022, at the age of 72 in Pensacola, FL.

The son of Ida Jones Taylor and William Henry Taylor, Don was born December 28th, 1949, in San Diego California at Mercy Hospital. He graduated from St. John Bosco High School in 1968 in Bellflower, CA where he played varsity football. He also attended San Diego Mesa College.

At the age of 18, Don enlisted in the U.S Navy after working briefly for the U.S Forest Service. He highly valued his military service and attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Upon retirement, Don settled in Pensacola, Florida.

Don is preceded in death by his mother, Ida Jones Taylor and his sister, Yvonne Linda Jones.

Don is survived by his wife, Mary Marcelle “Marcy” Taylor; children, Erika Marie Thompson, Lena Melanie Taylor, Jaclyn Lisa Taylor, and Alex Lee Turpin; grandchildren, Rhiannon Angeline Thompson, and Isaac David-Taylor Lemus; sister, Queenae Taylor Mulvihill; along with 4 nephews, niece, and many cousins.

Don was a history, music, and film buff, and a diehard San Diego Chargers fan. His loved ones will remember his laughter and his big personality.

A memorial service for Juan will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, FL 32508.
