John Nelson Peacock, of Pensacola, died July 19, 2013. Mr. Peacock was a native of Pensacola and graduated from Escambia High School. After earning a B.A. Degree from Troy State University, he moved to the Tampa Bay area where he worked in the Film & Television Industry as a set designer and decorator and had small acting roles. Nelson also designed many “award winning” parade floats, amusement park settings, mall settings and model homes throughout Central and South Florida.
After returning back to Pensacola a few years ago, Nelson organized Christmas and other volunteer events for the abused and neglected children in the community. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and a past officer in the Warrington Elks Lodge #2108.
Nelson was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Peacock; daughter, Alicia Michelle Peacock; sister, Judi Peacock Nichols; grandmother, Buena Holloway; aunt, Lula Williams; and first cousin, Don Williams.
Survivors include his wife Sherry Kelly Peacock; mother, Lucille Peacock-Mills; daughter Tiffani Lee Peacock; sons, Mark Douglas Peacock and Ryan Douglas Peacock; stepsons, William Joseph Kelson, III and Thomas Michael Kelson; brother, Scott Douglas Peacock; and first cousins, Dickie Bowes and Bebe Cole; 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild, 3 nephews and three nieces.
Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Morgan Miller, will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 10am, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Nichols, Cleve Bell, Rich Willows, Mike Kelly, Justin Peacock and Ken Cooper. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Peacock. Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
