Jacqueline “Jackie” Johnston, 87, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on 17 May 2023. Born in Philadelphia, Pa, she was the daughter of Frank and Violet Fox. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, William “Bill” Johnston, her parents and siblings Violet, Ethel, Norman, Carlton, Pearl, Robert, Frank, Ronald, Leon and Bruce. She is survived by her children, Denise Haas (Dave), Donna Odell (Rob), and Buck Johnston (Michele), brother Robert Fox, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
As well as being devoted to her family, Jackie was an active and loving parishioner of the Catholic Church, the most recent being St. Joseph’s Church in Lillian, Alabama. She spent many years in volunteer service to the Innerarity Fire Dept. Jackie enjoyed reading, cooking and traveling. These often centered on spending quality time with family and friends.
Funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Hwy. 98 Lillian, Al. on May 25, 2023 at 10am with reception immediately following in the parish hall.
She will be inurned at Barrancas National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
