Elizabeth Anne Edwards

June 28, 1941-June 20, 2023

It is with tremendous sorrow our family announces the passing of our matriarch, Betty Anne Edwards.

She died peacefully in her home Tuesday Night, June 20th surrounded by family and loved ones.

You often hear the term ‘To know her is to love her’, anyone who has ever had the honor of meeting Betty will tell you that with her it was absolutely true. She lived many lifetimes in her almost 82 years. She swore like a sailor, but ever a lady. A beautiful, gregarious woman with a quick wit and a smile that would truly light up the room. She at times could be frustrating, but you never doubted her love and affection. If ever you found yourself lost or hurting – whether a family member, friend, an ex of someone in the family, friend of a friend, and even complete stranger-you always had a place at her table or a bed to sleep in. She cared deeply and loved with her entire heart. She taught us all the true meaning of compassion, to love, live life to the fullest, and to deal with pain with grace and laughter.

We will miss and love you until our last days, but take comfort that you are now with Jesus.

Betty leaves behind a dedicated husband, loving children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends of every walk of life.

A rose once grew where all could see,

Sheltered beside a garden wall,

And as the days passed swiftly by,

It spread its branches straight and tall..

One day, a beam of light shone through a crevice that had opened wide-

The rose bent gently toward its warmth, then passed beyond to the other side..

Now you, who deeply feel its loss,

Be comforted- the rose blooms there-

Its beauty even greater now, nurtured by God’s own loving care.

She was adamant there be no funeral, but there will be a memorial wall at Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Pensacola, FL. The family would appreciate donations to Peoples Hospice of Pensacola, Fl. in lieu of flowers.
