There he was the basketball center from 1954-1957. The starter from 1954-1957. The most valuable player from 1956-1957 and he led his team to consecutive winning seasons from 1954-1957. He was so fond of those memories and his time there and often frequented the Delta State campus for functions with his cohorts throughout his life.
Throughout his life, he wore many hats such as school principal, referee, director of the YMCA, and business entrepreneur. After working as director of the Huntsville, AL YMCA, he moved to Pensacola in 1969 to be the YMCA director for Pensacola. After retiring from the YMCA, he became a true American entrepreneur. He went into business for himself, owning several businesses throughout the years, most notably, several pawn shops between Mississippi and Pensacola, FL before he retired for the last time.
Donald was a tried and true Auburn State fan but what he enjoyed most was singing and family. He enjoyed singing in the church choir and loved to sing for family and friends.
