She moved with her family to Louisville, KY where she graduated Louisville Girls High at age 16. She married in 1949 and moved to Pensacola, FL in 1954.
She learned the financial accounting trade by correspondence courses and worked for several local new car dealers in automotive accounting for many years. Dolores worked to earn her bachelors degree in accounting from University of West Florida in 1976 while working full time. After graduating she was employed by a State of Florida utilities auditing agency in Boca Raton. She found the separation from her sons unbearable so she soon moved back to Pensacola and went to work for Baptist Hospital in their payroll department where she stayed until her retirement in 1995.
During her retirement she enjoyed traveling with her sister and best friend Dottie Cutting. They took many trips together by cars, trains, cruise ships and river boats.
Dolores was a lifelong United Methodist and was a charter member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where she was very active in the prayer shawl ministry. She also participated in the Walk to Emmaus, the Red Bird Mission in Kentucky and was a faithful member of the Wesley Memorial Sunday School Class.
Dolores is survived by her 2 sons, Hank (Karen) and David (Linda), her grandchildren Erin Bevis (John), Molly Thomason (Marybeth), Chip Thompson, April Winslow (Chris) and her precious great granddaughter Makenna Grace Thomason. She was pre deceased by her parents Cliff and Rita Parish, her sisters Marie McAtee and Dottie Cutting and her grandson Byron Thompson.
Her Service of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 AM Monday March 20, 2017 at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1394 East Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL.
