Devon-Ryan Tyler Gore

Devon was born in Forrest City, Arkansas on July 22, 2005. He was an only child until the birth of his brother, Julian, 10 years his junior. Devon absolutely loved being a big brother and offered his friendship, guidance and protection from the beginning. As a young child, Devon was known for his quiet demeanor and his beautiful smile. He was especially close with his grandparents, Fred and Julia Gore. Devon eagerly accompanied them on many camping and fishing trips and always was ready to go on the next adventure. Devon was respectful to others, was soft spoken, and was able to converse easily with adults. Devon was intellectually astute in the world of computers, navigated complicated programs at an early age, and was often the go-to guy within his close family for data assistance.

Devon was intrigued by science. As a child, he aspired to be an astronaut and had a life-long fascination with the technology associated with rocketry, aerospace, and munitions. He also enjoyed skateboarding, music, writing poems, drawing, and painting. One of his many favorite songs were “Say it isn’t so” by the band, Weezer; “Rocket Man” by Elton John; and “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. One of his favorite Netflix series were “The 100” and “ Stranger Things.” His favorite movies were “Guardian of the Galaxies,” “Star Wars,” and “Goonies.” He loved DC and Marvel comics series. He readily and actively engaged in discussions regarding conspiracy theories, ancient civilizations, and political issues.

Devon is predeceased by his great grandmother, Ione Gore and grandparents, Fred and Julia Gore.

Devon is survived by his mother, Laura Gore; father Seth Carpenter; brother, Julian-Reese Walker McClung and sister, Harley Moon Carpenter; Great Grandparents, William and Devonne Gillum; Grandmother, Linda Thompson; Great Aunts, Donna Sue Gore, and Virginia Lee Kernodle and spouse William Kernodle, Aunts, Marion Alberktsen, Veronica Choukalas, Genevieve Kernodle, and Jennifer Thompson.

Devon had an extensive extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that were considered family, that loved him dearly. He will be greatly missed by many but may his smile and laughter be forever remembered in their hearts.

Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Pensacola at 2pm on Sunday, July 2, 2023. Located off 6 E Wright Street.
