2018 in Pensacola, Florida at the age of 75. Denise is survived by her brothers Stephen Lamar Tujague (wife Lucille) of Madisonville, LA, and Dennis Leckert Tujague (wife Peggy) of New Orleans, LA; her children Glenn J. Blanchard of Pensacola, FL, Timothy L. Blanchard of Sacramento, CA, Kathleen L. Blanchard Montgomery (husband James) of Maple Valley, WA, and Karen L. Blanchard Hicks (husband Timothy) of Frisco, TX, and David Garcia of Surprise, AZ; numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father Leon Simeon Tujague, mother Doris Jane Tujague (nee LeBlanc), her loving husband Paul Foster Buckley, her sister Karen Jane Callahan, her brother Leon S. Tujague Jr., and her daughter Janie Marie Blanchard. Denise was born on April 27th 1942 in New Orleans LA where she grew up before moving to California where she worked for the United States Postal Service. She moved to Pensacola in 1970 where she lived the rest of her life. Pensacola is where she raised the children she shared with her first husband, Leo John Blanchard of Wetumpka, AL. She finished her working career at NAS Pensacola. In 1989 Denise married Paul Buckley who was the love of her life. She met Paul while working as a payroll clerk at NAS. Throughout their years together, they enjoyed many activities together including dancing to country music, recreational gambling, and cuddling their beloved dog Rosie. Denise (Nana, Granny B ) was loved by and is survived by seven adoring grandchildren: Chloe Nicole Blanchard of Los Angeles, LA, Caroline Jane Montgomery of Maple Valley, WA, Grace Kathleen Montgomery of Pullman, WA, Noelle Lee Blanchard of Kirkland, WA, Joshua Andrew Blanchard of Greeley CO, Erin Linda Montgomery of Bellingham, WA, and Abigail Claire Hicks of Frisco, TX. Denise was loved by everyone she met. To her, there was no such thing as a stranger who was not welcomed and she was know to invite those less fortunate into her home for a hot cooked meal. Her greatest passions was cooking and no one could whip up a fine cajun-style meal better than Denise. It was one of her unrealized dreams to someday have a restaurant of her own. No doubt she and her other heavenly family are right now each adding their own special touches to concoct the most divine pot of gumbo ever imagined. Denise had a heart of gold and was generous beyond her means. If ever she had the luck to win a big lottery she would have certainly ended up bankrupt because of her enormous desire to help others less fortunate than herself. Denise was also generous with a laugh, often at herself for the silly shenanigans in which she would become entwined. Funeral services and visitation are scheduled for Saturday January 27th at 10AM to be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 N New Warrington Rd, Pensacola. Gathering of family and friends to follow in reception hall. Burial services will be held on Tuesday January 30th at Barrancas National Cemetery. (Depart funeral home at 10:15 AM) All who knew her are openly invited to attend and share memories of this sweet, loving woman.
