Betty Jean Renfroe

Betty Jean Watson Renfroe, age 94, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2016. She was born on July 25, 1922 to the late Jessie Lee McKenzie Watson and Eugene Albert Watson of Florida Town.

Throughout her life, Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and church member. She worked as a bookkeeper for Creel & Dennison, CPA, Stone’s Studio and later as a receptionist and bookkeeper for her son’s dental practice. While she was always happy to garden and fish, she loved canning the bounty to share with family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Marion K. (Buck) Renfroe, brothers William N. Watson, MD and James A. Watson, DDS, sister Alta Watson Ragsdale and grandson Bradley Stephen Bullard.

She is survived by sisters Laura Watson Laird and Allie Watson Roberts, her children: James F. Renfroe, DMD (Judy), Lee Anne Renfroe Bullard (Dr. John F.) and Marian Kay Renfroe Cook (Gary), six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Services will be held at and conducted by Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home on Monday September 19, 2016. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. The service will be conducted by David Wiggins, with burial immediately following.
