Myra J. Sherman, age 73, of Hammondsport, NY passed away on Saturday, October 5th, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital. Myra was born August 2, 1946 in Fillmore, NY the daughter of the late, Mary Barnard and Dominic Uvenio. She earned her associated degree at FLCC. Myra was a service coordinator for Lakeview Apartments in Bath, NY, where she truly enjoyed working with people. She enjoyed gardening and yard work. Myra had a love for her friends and family, and cherished being a devoted mother and grandmother. She will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Myra is survived by her daughters, Veronica Owens, Barbara Ferro, and Teresa Sherman; grandchildren, Lauryn Owens, James Ferro, Michael Ferro and Dominic Ferro; her significant other and very good friend, Craig Powell; her brothers, Joseph (Kathy) and Andy Uvenio; as well as, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Myra was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, James W. Sherman on November 29th, 2003.
A celebration of Myra's life will be held on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 from 1pm to 6pm at the Steuben Brewing Company, 10286 Judson Rd., Hammondsport, NY 14840. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Myra's memory to a Veteran's home or Veteran's organization of one's choice.
