Douglas E Smith

PELL CITY – Funeral Service for Douglas E. Smith, age 75, will be Wednesday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Lineville City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodie Eldred Smith and Martha Binkley Smith. Doug Smith worked for the local telephone company for 44 years. He was born and raised in Lineville, Alabama. He graduated from Alabama Christian College in 1962.

He is survived by his wife, Verna Flack Smith; son, Samuel E. Smith; daughter, Elizabeth Lambert; 8 grandchildren, Woody (Danielle) Moss, Winston (Jessica)Moss, Tyler (Meredith) Smith, Kendyll (Terry) Dean, Landon Smith, Savannah Smith, Logan (Tabetha) Lambert, Bailey Lambert; 8 great-grandchildren, Cannon Moss, Alexa Dean, Willow Grace Moss, Sadie Smith, Adrianna Moss, Elizabeth Moss, Bella Moss, Madalyn Boyd.
