Michael received his formal education at Mortimer Jordan High School in Morris, Alabama.
He furthered his education at University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Michael W. Morton was married to Hannelore Mostch on August 17, 1968 in Phoenix, Alabama.
Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army for 20 years. He retired in 1978 as a Major.
He owned his own business in Alabama Custodial Services. In his leisure, Mike would get lost in one of many books he loved to read. If not in a book, he was spending time with family. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren grow up.
Mike leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Hannelore Morton; children, Michael Morton (Sandi), Patricia M. Budny (Patrick), Pamela Morton (Maurice), and Mark Morton (Catherine); grandchildren, Jonathan, Cheri, Gina, Cari, Alex, Erin, Stephanie, Katelyn, Danielle and Matthew; great grandchildren, John-Michael, Daniel, D’Anthony, Ciara, Sandi, Zoey and Kayden; sisters and brother, Larry Morton (Brenda), Michelle Morton Hicks (Gordon) and Dennis Morton.
A visitation will be held at Rocko Funeral Home in Montevallo, Alabama on Thursday, October 10, at 11:00 am followed by a chapel service at 12:00 pm. A committal service with military honors will be held at Alabama National Cemetery at 2:00 pm following the chapel service.
