Maxie "Max" Pernell Blalock, III, 41, of Helena, AL died unexpectedly and tragically on Saturday, August 12, 2017. He was born on January 12, 1976 to Maxie Pernell Blalock, Jr. and Deborah Burns Blalock at Decatur General Hospital in Decatur, AL.
Max, III is survived by his children, William Peyton Blalock, 17, and Julia Faith Blalock, 7; his parents, "Max" Blalock, Jr and Deborah Burns Blalock; his sister, Christy Blalock Cox; brother-in-law, Bruce B. Cox; and his maternal grandparents, Douglas Roy Burns and Colleen Olander Burns. He was preceded by his paternal grandparents, Maxie Pernell Blalock, Sr and Lillian Day Blalock.
Max, III graduated from Auburn University in 1999 with his undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems. He loved all things Auburn, especially Auburn football. He could always light up a room with his big, brown eyes, joyful smile, and fun-loving, lets-have-a-great-time energy. His greatest joys were his children, William and Julia. His professional career was focused in banking software and installation training. He also enjoyed his dogs, gardening, and sports both participating and watching.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by the 3 p.m. Celebration of Max III's Life at Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Dr. Mark Cushman will officiate, and pallbearers will be Bruce Cox, Heath Blalock, Jim Boatwright, Eric Dern, Breck Price, and Eric Hinkle.
