Martha Ann Esters Holt

Martha Ann Esters Holt, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. She was born on February 4, 1934, to the late James and Gladys Esters in Anniston, Alabama. She received her formal education at Oxford High School and graduated in 1952. She was a member of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church for 40 years. She served as the Shalom Sunday School class coordinator for 15 years. Martha was married to

E. Howard Holt on December 15, 1955. They did not have any children, but they were godparents to many. Upon graduating high school, Ann began her career with AT&T and retired 38 years later, after serving in 5 different states. She retired as a Human Resources Manager in the state of Alabama. In her leisure, she was an avid Bridge player and international traveler. She was a master seamstress and she also served as a member of "The Arts Executive Council" for Samford University.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, James and Gladys Esters.

She is survived by her husband, E. Howard Holt and her sister, Jane Feazell.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church at 11:00 AM.
