Lonnie “Merrial” Horne, Jr. of Jemison, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the age of 62.
He was born on November 30, 1959 in Birmingham, Alabama and attended Homewood High School. Merrial worked as a mechanic at Horne’s Chevron. He enjoyed doing puzzles and was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church and later at New Wind Church where he was in the choir.
Merrial was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Merrial Horne, Sr. and Pauline Horne. Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Ron Horne; and sister Kathy Gingras (Jerry); niece, Kristin Turner; nephew, Jacob Horne (Brittani); and great-nephews, Noah Horne and Jonah Horne.
A graveside service will be held at Southern Heritage Cemetery on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 10:00 am. The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in Merrial’s honor.
