James Elmer Davis

He was born in Adger, AL on March 5th, 1938 to Vann & Clauson Davis. He grew up on a farm with 7 brothers and 3 sisters. After graduation he joined the Army and served 2 years in Germany. He was employed by Delta Air Lines as the Senior Freight Agent for 29 years until he retired. His hobbies included woodworking, volunteering at his church, and refurbishing any and all manner of machinery. Jim was involved with Carpenters for Christ and built birdhouses and twig furniture for PrimeTime Treasures. He loved Jesus, his family, and his church. He attended Altadena Valley Presbyterian for many, many years.

Jim is survived by his wife, Leona ‘Lee’, daughters, Karen Taylor (Scott), Susan Couch (Glenn), Cheryl Linder (Dan) and eight grandchildren, Brooke, Tori, Alex, Jack, Zoe, Sarah, Rebecca, & Joanna.

A service for James will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church, located on 4660 Caldwell Mill Rd, Vestavia Hills, AL 35243.
