Jackie Sue Thompson

Jackie Sue Thompson, age 90 passed away at home surrounded by family, on Wednesday December 11, 2019. Jackie was born March 21, 1929. She graduated from Collinsville High School and worked in Detroit, Michigan. She then moved to Alabama to work at Paddock Pool and Equipment, Holliday Bowl and Smitherman Construction Co.

In her past time, she loved to travel with her husband which included, European tours and cruises, to all 50 states and mission trips. She also loved to cook and bake for others. She was very hospitable and a people person. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Jackie Sue will be missed by her family and her friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Jack Traffanstedt; her brothers, Wendell and Kenneth Traffanstedt. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Judge Gordon Thompson; daughter, Debbie Patterson (Rick); one son, Jerry Thompson (Sherry); grandchildren, Kristy Kelly (Chris), Stacy Shelton (Chris), Jason Cargile, Jamie and Ryan Thompson; great-grandchildren, Logan, Colton, and Miles Kelly.

A visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on December 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3:00 pm.
