Gerald Lynn Daniels of Pelham, AL passed away peacefully at his home on September 21st, 2024. Gerald ”Jerry” Lynn Daniels was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on September 20th, 1954. He was the beloved son of James Tillman Daniels and Marianna List Daniels. He was married to the love of his life, Lisa L. Daniels, on March 12th of 1982 and they were happily married for 42 years. Jerry Daniels graduated from Dothan High School and received his bachelor's degree from California University. He graduated from the Police Academy and served in the Sheriff reserve.
Jerry had a fulfilling and successful career in engineering in the nuclear industry for Daniels Construction at Farley Nuclear Plant and Mechanical Engineer at Southern Company Services for 37 years before enjoying his well-earned retirement. He proudly served his Community as a member and leader of the Shelby County Sheriff Reserve for 26 years. He was involved in the community as the president of the HOA board at Shoreline Towers in Destin, FL. During his time with the board, he oversaw and successfully completed a 26-million-dollar renovation project at the Shoreline Towers.
Above all Jerry was a family man. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, and his cherished children: Becky Elise (Jason) Weaver, and Jessica (Frank “Chuck”) Huber IV. His four grandchildren, Nolen Grey Weaver, Harley Elizabeth Huber, Luke Aaron Weaver, and Frank “Cash” Huber V. He is survived by his two brothers James Walter Daniels and Roy Dean Daniels.
Jerry was a devoted, loving, and funny man towards his family and friends. He found great joy in visiting the beach with his wife and family in his spare time. He took simple pleasure in Alabama football, fishing, cooking, and spoiling his grandchildren.
His loss is deeply felt, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him. The family will receive friends on September 25th from 5 to 6 p.m. with a memorial service to follow from 6 to 7 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama
