Geneva Shariett Aycock

Geneva Shariett Aycock, age 101, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023. She was born on August 29, 1922 in Sipsey, Alabama. Geneva received her formal education at Parish High School in Birmingham, Alabama. She furthered her education at Business School.

Geneva Lee Shariett was married to Jesse Walker Aycock on August 2, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama. Their union was blessed with two children. She was employed by TCI, a company that produced ammunition for World War II. In her leisure, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, entertaining friends and family and especially helping with grandchildren. She attend Briarwood Christian Church, a member of neighborhood clubs, and active with Alabama Air Guard until the death of her late husband.

Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Walker; parents, Charles Amos Shariett and Lillie Cole Shariett.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Nancy Norris Keith (David) and Joy Carter (Larry); grandchildren, Tyler Whitson (Amy), Jessica Carter (Chad), Jordan Carter (Abby), Travis Whitson; sisters and brothers, Lois Sedberry, Becky Shariett, Dorthy Shariett and Sharon Shariett; great-grandchildren, Ford, Lainey and Betsy Whitson, Christian, Layla, Layton and Carter Tyler, Grace and Walker Carter.

A graveside service for Geneva will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Southern Heritage Cemetery, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124.
