Faith Darden Harris

Faith Darden Harris, born July 27, 1941, went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2022 at the age of 81, surrounded by family. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Faith graduated from Tarrant High School and attended Auburn University.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Harris; parents, Ona and Forrest Darden; and brother-in-law, Jim Gurley.

She is survived by her children, Kelley English (Alan), David Harris (Kristie), and Joel Harris (Carrie); grandchildren, Philip English (Madeline), Anna English, Brooke Markham (Austin), Zachary Harris, and Emma Grace Harris; great-grandchildren Sutton Markham and Averie Markham; sister, Anita Darden Gurley; sister-in-law, Peggy Harris; and nephew, Jimmy Gurley.

Most important in her life was her relationship with God and service to Him. She was a faithful member of Vestavia Hills church of Christ and devoted countless hours to the children's Bible classes and serving her brothers and sisters in Christ.

Second to her love for the Lord was her family. She enjoyed any family gathering whether it be holidays, birthday celebrations, Sunday lunches, or weekends at the lake. She had many close friends with which she enjoyed spending time. Sunday night dinners, morning walks, vacations and Auburn football games were just a few of the occasions spent with her close friends.

She also spent many years as a successful interior decorator. Many of her clients became friends as she transformed their houses into homes.

She will be missed greatly by her family and friends, but as we are told in Matthew 5:12, we will "rejoice and be glad because great is your reward in heaven."

The family would like to especially thank Maria Dyer, Reba Thompson, Angie Robinson, La'Quinta Jackson, Affinity Palliative Care, and Affinity Hospice who provided care and support to Faith and her family over the past two years.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, followed by A Service of Remembrance for Faith at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
