Edgar “Boo” Meche, 63, of Chelsea, AL, passed away, surrounded by loved ones on November 2nd, 2020. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden passing.
Edgar was born on March 25th, 1957 to Edgar Meche, Sr. and Lucille Quebedeaux in Arnaudville, LA. After graduating from Leonville High School in 1975, he went on to study pharmaceuticals at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA.
Prior to meeting the love of his life, Edgar worked 20 years for Community Coffee in Lafayette, LA.
In 1999, Edgar met Deborah Hodges of League City, TX; they fell in love and got married. Soon after, Edgar joined Debbie, in Texas, to start their lives together. Two years later, their only daughter, Ellie, was born. Anyone who knew Edgar knew that he was the most loving father and spouse a family could ask for.
Edgar was also a passionate craftsman who enjoyed woodworking. He also enjoyed gardening and baking for family and friends. But above all, Edgar’s family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.
Edgar was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Sr. and his mother, Lucille. He is survived by his wife, Debbie, and his daughter, Ellie Meche of Chelsea; three brothers, Donald and Lillie Mae Meche of Arnaudville, LA, Russell and JoAnn Meche of Sunset, LA, and Lawrence and Brunetta Meche of Sunset, LA; and two sisters, Mrs. Octave “Helen” Pontiff of Sunset, LA and Mrs. Eddie “Shirley” Dekerlegand of Arnaudville, LA.
