"Kate" was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many in Birmingham, Alabama and in Pittsburgh. She moved in 1981 to the Birmingham area, where she enjoyed a full and very happy life with her husband, Dan Farrell, in the Riverchase community. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her gift of storytelling, and her kind generosity.
Kate was predeceased by her husband, Dan, to whom she was married for 56 years. Survivors include their two daughters, Kimberly Farrell of Atlanta, Georgia, and Daryl Farrell (Lou Amalfitano) of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Kate Amalfitano of Baltimore, Maryland; and one sister, Audrey Cassidy of Pittsburgh.
Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover. Followed by inurnment and a reception at the church.
