Brenda Carter Mason

Brenda Carter Mason was the second eldest of four children born to Frances and Floyce Carter in Hamilton, Alabama in 1948. Feisty from the day she was born, She was a spit fire beauty with jet black hair.

Brenda was known for her quick wit and sly sense of humor. She was an avid reader with an incredible memory. Traveling was her passion, whether it was Italy with friends, Greece with her daughter, Costa Rica with her son, or Destin with her sister and family.

She loved her family dearly, especially time spent playing games and cards with her sisters, children, nieces and nephews.

On April 19, 2018 Brenda lost a hard fought battle with cancer. Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, Hugh Carter, and her father, Floyce Carter.

She is survived by her children, Cory Mason (Liz) and Erin Mason Finney (Jimmie); her mother, Frances Carter; her sisters, Lisa Gottier (Walter) and Carolyn Otto (Morris); and eight nieces and nephews, Wade Gottier, Stephanie Gottier, Will Gottier, Eric Carter (Dawn), Misty Barnes (Mike) Cami Meyer (Dave), Sean Otto, and Brooke Carter.

A visitation will be held at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on April 21, 2018 from 2-5 p.m., with A Celebration of Brenda's Life following at 5 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham.
