Betty Sue Griffin Morgan

Betty Sue Griffin Morgan, age 82, of Hoover, Alabama passed away peacefully on Nov. 26, 2014, with her loving husband by her side.

Betty graduated from Carbon Hill High School. She met Bill Morgan on a blind date arranged by one of her co-workers at Protective Life. Betty and Bill married on Jan. 1, 1961, while he was an officer in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Valdosta, Georgia. Together, they built a family and successful businesses.

Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, always putting others before herself. A true Southern woman in every regard, Betty's graciousness and discretion made her the confidant of many friends over the years. She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul, and was a longtime member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church.

Betty is survived by her husband, Bill; their daughters, Christie Carol Morgan and Cathy Morgan Dollar; son-in-law, Kip Dollar; grandchildren, Morgan Catherine Dollar and Austin David Dollar; and dear friend, Shirley Covington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Audrey and Dewey Griffin, and her brother, Col. (Ret.) Hiram Griffin.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, with funeral service at 2:00, officiated by Dr. Charles T. Carter, at Ridout's Southern Heritage in Pelham.
