In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis Shirley, to whom she was married on January 20, 1951; and siblings, W.A. Williams (Dean), Russell Williams, Douglas Williams, and Johnny Williams (Ruby Nell).
A member of First Baptist Church of Pelham, Alma is survived by her four children, Garry Shirley (Brenda), Ted Shirley (Betsy), Tim Shirley (Carolyn), and Dewayne Shirley (Gina); eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Wells (O.L. "Otis"); and sisters-in-law, Betty Williams and Audrey Williams.
Visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2024 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham from 12 noon to 1 p.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance for Alma at 1 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
